My name is Nancy Jarnick, and I design and create the little bears and other critters of TEDDY'S GARDEN. I live in the town of Oakville, in Ontario, Canada, with my husband Stephen and our daughter, Gillian. Our cats Penny and Sushi make up the rest of our family.

For several years I was a part-time teaching assistant and home worker, working with children with special needs. Although I enjoyed that job very much, in 1999 I decided to concentrate on creating and selling the teddies and other little creatures that I have always enjoyed making for my family and friends.

My love for mini bears began many years ago, when my husband gave me a tiny mohair Steiff bear. Shortly after that I was given a kit to make a small stuffed teddy named Simon. Even though it was a very simple pattern, I was really excited with the results. Just holding that tiny bear in my hands was enough to get me hooked on mini bears forever!
