My name is Sophie and I am 32 years old. I am born in Brittany (France). I am living with a charming man born in Sarthe. Our little flat is crowded with my teddy bears and all the old clocks he is collecting and reparing...

I have been collecting teddy bears since November 2003 and I began making teddy bears in November 2004.

Once in France, I explored the teddy bear world on Internet. On a French website, I found some teddy bear patterns from a French artist I could download for free. One day, I decided that could be an interesting challenge for me to try to make a bear. Instead of using mohair as specified on the pattern, I preferred to use cheaper fabric as I had some doubts about my abilities at sewing. So I ordered on Internet joints, eyes, stuffing material and a stuffing tool, and bought the rest including fabric in a local shop.

I had never sewn before, so this was a "première" for me.

To my amazement, the result was not bad at all, and I even fancied doing it...

From my second bear, I began designing my own patterns, what produced surprising results.

Teddy bear making is now my hobby.
