Bears for Tea by Mary Crawford

My name is Mary Crawford and I am the designer for Bears for Tea. I am married, with four children, two dogs, a budgerigar and parrot. In addition I have rooms full of bears, both those that I have made for sale and those I love and own.

I have always been keen on crafts and have recently completed my series on knitted toy patterns for the magazine Machine Knitting News.

I have always had an interest in bears and have made them in a variety of craft mediums. My knitted bears have aroused a lot of interest, so I am pleased to now be able to offer them for sale in strictly limited quantities.

With a large family to care for, my working hours are restricted, but are generally spent sewing and knitting bears for customers. I have also written two pattern books of hand knitted bear clothes that I am pleased to offer for sale in these pages. A pattern from each was featured in Teddy Bear Club International, so you may be familiar with my style already.

My most recent interest is in capturing the realistic pose of bears but in a small size so they fit and move in the hand.
